The Story so far . . .
For the past 35 years the club's dojo has been based in Queens Park Sport Centre, Boythorpe Road, Chesterfield, S40 2ND.
Satori Shotokan Karate Club was established in 1975 and has been affiliated to the Karate Union of Great Britain since that time.
The club trains three times a week at different venues, (see Training Times page).
The Chief Instructor of the club Sensei Dudley Wheatcroft started training in the 1960's in Wado-Ryu and Shotokan Karate with the likes of Sensei Danny Connors, Sensei John Lowcock, Sensei Phil Milner, Sensei Eddy de Roeck and Sensei Derek Langham. After training for many years under Sensei Connors and Sensei Milner he attained the rank of 3rd Dan with the British Karate Association. 1974 saw Dudley move to the KUGB where he is now a Long Standing member of some 47 years.
National and International competitions are regularly entered by members. Dan Grade members are also encouraged to obtain KUGB Instructor, DBS, First Aid and Judge/Referee qualifications, appropriate to their grade.
The club has Four Senior KUGB Qualified Instructors holding Enhanced DBS Accreditations and First Aid Certificates.
All ages from 8 years old to senior Citizen, beginners to advanced, are welcome.
